To me, life begins at validity and not at conception. I am a Christian and a science student and I support abortion. My support for abortion stems out of many reasons which include individual’s right, especially women’s moral right. In addition, it preserves the woman’s life in case the woman’s life is in jeopardy. Also, abortion prevents severely malformed babies from being born and suffer. Abortion is vital for gender equality and population control. Abortion helps science to research different vaccine which ironically help to reduce miscarriage and also to research medicines for debilitating diseases.

Among the merits of abortion is woman’s right. A woman carries the pregnancy and knows her body better than anyone. A woman has the right to decide what goes inside her body and what comes out of her body without being subjected to ridicule and psychological punishment or torture. If she sees a difficult future as a result of having a baby, and she thinks the best way out is to let go a fetus rather than suffer which a child, she should let go the fetus. If she sees future challenges that could invoke unbearable hardship on her and her baby, be it in form of baby’s health or finances and she knows she wouldn’t be able to handle the challenges, it is then wise to let go the embryo than to birth a baby with …show more content…
Most importantly, we have tools like stem cells to help science advance many medical researches that could lead to break through in medicine. I know that anti-abortion groups will want us to believe that abortion is wrong and evil, we should disregard their arguments because they are solely based on emotions and individual beliefs. There is no scientific fact, aside from pseudoscience, that supports their arguments. The benefits of abortion, starting from woman right to relieve from psychological burden of unwanted pregnancy and all the way to scientific benefits, have positively affect our society and our world.
