I Am A Broken Compass

“My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place” (KJV Jerimiah 50:6). A compass is believed to ensure guidance to a lost individual, no matter if you are a sailor lost in the Pacific Ocean or an explorer walking through the Amazon Forest; a broken compass does not provide guidance if you are lost. For this I believe I am a broken compass because all of the directions that I am receiving in my life are leading me down the wrong path and I do not know where I am going, but that broken compass can be fixed.
Growing up as a child, my family already had my educational life mapped out; it was simple, go to college and pursue a career in nursing. I was fine with that because I am interested in setting that as my life long goal. But thinking further ahead, I never thought about whom I wanted to be in life or what people will remember me by when I leave this

Every friend I met was different, being well-versed was extremely important to me and having the different groups of friends that I had, whether it was based off of race or the typical cliques that were formed meant that I did not limit myself. I learned something about myself from every friendship that was shaped. I learned that I was fearless, outgoing, and spontaneous, while still being conserved. I quickly learned that you cannot befriend everyone that you meet; take the time out to analyze everyone that crosses your path but in a respectful and well-behaved manner. I also learned that the once broken compass that was leading me down the path of negativity was configured.
