I like that your hospital has the list of credentials each doctor is able to perform. I feel that would be very helpful in certain situations, not only for the patients, but the nurses. I have been at my current job, on a Labor and Delivery unit, for 7 years, and just found out an obstetrician doesn't perform hysterectomies. I feel that is extremely dangerous, because every woman is at risk of bleeding, when giving birth. I would not want to be the patient that is bleeding, and needing a hysterectomy, that has to wait for another surgeon to arrive to perform the surgery. I would hope he is telling his patients what he is capable of doing, and not just assuming they know. I feel many people don't research their doctors, and go by word of mouth.
