Nelson Mandela, Tony Stark, Or Elon Musk-Why?

The objective of this essay is to create a hypothetical board of directors for a company owned by the author. It consists of fictional characters as well as contemporary figures based on their leadership skills and personal traits. The author would like to learn and implement the management skills from these figures, required for the success of his company.

The Ideal Board A company’s board of directors play a pivotal role in its success and failure. Therefore, choosing the right set of people for the board members is imperative. After careful thought, the author wishes to choose five personalities for his board of directors. The names are ‘Elon Musk’, ‘Warren Buffet’, ‘Nelson Mandela’, ‘Tony Stark’ and ‘L’.
Elon Musk – Why?
A leader should be visionary, industrious and risk taker. Currently, Elon Musk is one of best entrepreneurs in the world. He envisioned a cheaper way for space travel and founded SpaceX. He wanted to commercialize the electric cars which were mere experiments and founded Tesla. He also founded Paypal, a new mode of online payment method which was later acquired by E-Bay. He led from behind and put others in front during victory but took front line while there was danger. This management dexterity to make people feel bigger about themselves made him one of the most influential leaders of all time. He was a person with great integrity and always supported his core values (Ankit, 2015). He was an optimist and a creative visionary which aided him to successfully led his nation towards prosperity. He had great interpersonal skills and listened to people’s opinion, making him a trusted leader whom people idolized.
