In this section, we verify the effectiveness of SRLP-FS through a toy example. From table II, we can know AT&T database has 400 samples, 10304 features and 40 classes. Each class has 10 samples, which represents a person's 10 face images. We randomly select two classes from AT&T database and choose two samples from these two classes as the test samples. We apply SRLP-FS to the two test samples and select {1280, 2560, 3840, 5120, 6400, 7680, 8960, 10240} features respectively to observe the feature selected results.…
There are a myriad of current and potential applications for two sample hypothesis tests within my organization. To begin with, our Human Resources Department utilizes two-tailed two sample hypothesis tests to ensure we remain compliant with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Title VII requirements by ensuring our pre-employment test is not unintentionally adversely impacting a group of applicants (Collins & Morris, 2008). Therefore, they utilize two-tailed two sample hypothesis tests to compare the mean test results of men and women, the proportion of men versus women that fail the test, and the proportion of male and female applicants that elect not to proceed or are not selected to proceed to the next step of the screening…
"Tiger" -What is TestoBoost Pro? Testoboost Pro is a testosterone booster and bodybuilding supplement. The manufacturers of Testoboost Pro claims this product will “help its customers achieve significant bodybuilding and male enhancement results through improved testosterone levels.” The pill is supposed to function by encouraging better protein synthesis and muscle development by increasing testosterone levels. The manufactor websit also claims that this product was developed over many years of clinical research (though that fact cannot be independently established).…
As Cher Horowitz would say, “You see how picky I am about my shoes, and those only go on my feet.” If Clueless took place in 2017 NYC, then this outfit would have been Cher’s iconic, yellow, plaid skirt-suit ensemble. This look has transcended along the ages. Plaid never goes out of style, and neither does our lookbook! Christine of Louis Reign has shared with us that, “My style is edgy with a twist.…

The FIU Honors College is built upon one core tenet: urging students towards excellence. That tenet is what draws me to the Honors College. I’m a student who is deeply vested in ever pulling myself towards reaching my full potential. Consequently, I align with the Honors College’s mission to ensure that their students are evermore excellent, not just as academics, but as citizens of the world. I seek to seize the opportunities provided to me by the Honors College to secure a life of liberty: the liberty to advance my experience and sate my voracious appetite for knowledge.…
Make visual observations of other people in class to observe a possible correlation. 2. From the observations made, formulate the hypothesis, “The length of a person’s upper limb…
Data Collection Assignment Emanuela Hale Ball State University Directions: For each scenario below, identify a target behavior for reduction, provide an operational definition (please make sure you use the criteria from your operational definition assignment), and identify a data collection method for the selected behavior. In addition, provide a short justification for the data collection method of your choice (i.e., why this method is appropriate) for each scenario. Remember not every response can be appropriately quantified using frequency. 1.Mary is a 9 years-old girl with a diagnosis Autism Spectrum Disorders and a mild intellectual disability.…
In the third critical experiment, comparing model 2 and 3, I would pick the top three popular public college from each state in US and Africa to do this experiment. I would give them a survey asking them if they have health care, and how often they use it. If the participants does not have health care or they barely use it, then this proves model 2 is correct. Education is providing them helpful knowledge on how to maintain a healthy life, so they don’t need to use their healthcare often to get a body check. However, if they are in college and still use their healthcare very often for body check, then this means that education is not providing them more knowledge on maintaining a healthy life.…
How might clothing reduce the chances of confirmatory hypothesis testing? If the participants in the Snyder study had a chance to ask their questions face-to-face, or had they just been told “this person is introverted/extroverted,” before the interview, would the results have been different? What if you are told someone is introverted but then upon meeting them they are wearing bold makeup, and cloths that are bright and standout, suggesting they are instead extraverted? It may depend on how much you value the judgement and accuracy of the one who told you the interviewee was introverted, but I believe in instances like this people may adopt a null hypothesis testing strategy or they may adopt what Snyder called “equal opportunity strategies.”…
Quantitative Article Critique Quantitative Article Critique This study consisted of quantitative research because it used precise measurements to obtain data that were statistically analyzed. The purpose of the study, Model of functional performance in obese elderly people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by Dr. Jochebed Bosede Ade-Oshifogun (2012), was to test the relationships among percent truncal obesity; disease severity; dyspnea; functional capacity; and functional performance of elderly people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The research is significant and relevant to nursing because COPD is the fourth-leading cause of chronic morbidity and mortality in the United…
A situation when I compared three samples is when I was trying to figure out what method of melting ice would work the best. During the winter it gets very icy and slippery on my driveway and walkways. I knew that something had to be done, because the last time my mother visited she slipped and fell and hurt her arm. I was on a mission to figure out what would be the best method to melt the ice. I was not sure what would be the best method to melt the ice quickly, so I have decided to test and compare rock salt, sand, and salt.…
#01: On certainty This, I fear, is my letter to the world. Let it be known that at this point in time I am in possession of something of extreme value. Some might even call it the value. I am in possession of certainty.…
This research report use a replication data from Clark And Golder (2006) article to test the conditional hypothesis with interaction variable from Duverger’s theory. The argument of his theory state that increasing the number of ethnic groups within a country will only to an increase in the effective number of electoral party if the electoral system is proportional or permissive. • Multivariate Regression Analysis Table~ ef{tab:example1} shows that when there are ethnic groups in a society there is a slightly increase in effective number of electoral parties in a multivariate regression model, for which there is control of other confounding variables as logged district magnitude, upper ties seats, number of presidential candidate, proximity…
2-8- Statistical analysis Results are presented as mean±standard deviation (SD) of two replicated determinations. Data were subjected to one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and multiple comparisons were performed by Duncan's test. Statistical significance was set at P>0.05. All analyses were performed using SAS version 9.1 (PROC GLIMMIX; SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC). 3.…
