Among various religious institutions, the hypocritical statement that abortion is sinful has been the basis for many pro-life arguments. I use the the word ‘hypocritical’ because of the redundancy in logic inspired by figures such as Mother Teresa and The Bible. Mother Teresa had a strong opinion against terminating pregnancies and even using birth control. She once said that “Anything that destroys God’s gift of motherhood destroys his most precious gift to women: the ability to love as a woman.” Meaning, that as a female, one is seemingly assigned the destiny of taking care of a possibly unwanted child. Not only that, but Mother Teresa’s insistence on reproducing within third world countries only made circumstances worse for the very children
