The film follows Hal who only dates women who are extremely attractive as per his dying father’s advice. Hal goes through a majority of his life this way until he encounters a hypnotist who hypnotizes Hal into seeing women based on their inner beauty rather than their appearance. Consequently, Hal falls in love with Rosemary, a morbidly obese woman, who he believes is the embodiment of physical perfection, but really he is only seeing her this way because she is extremely kind hearted and gentle.
