Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Paper

If you’ve been following my blog you know that at the Eustache Institute we specialize in neurofeedback therapy. However, an additional treatment we proudly provide is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), which involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber, allowing our lungs to gather more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure. Our blood will then carry the oxygen throughout our body and our organs, helping to fight bacteria while stimulating the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing. For instance, just like neurofeeback therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is noninvasive, highly effective and treats a variety of illnesses and conditions such as, but not limited to, alzheimer’s, brain trauma, addiction (detox) insomnia and anxiety, and is extremely beneficial when it comes to skin care (rejuvenation, anti aging, reduces acne). Additionally, it can increase …show more content…
Our chamber is soft, comfortable and designed to treat one person at a time, allowing for privacy—which many patients expect and desire. When treatment begins we set the air pressure two or three times above our normal everyday air pressure, but less than the air pressure found on an airplane. As the patient rests comfortably in the trailer they inhale an abundant of pure-oxygen, which speeds and multiplies the absorption of Oxygen molecules to damaged and impaired tissues. Therefore, naturally guiding a patients healing process. For most patients, and this will depend on the health condition they’re being treated for, a therapy session can last up to two hours and may require from 20 to 40

After a few weeks, when the kidneys detect a chronically low oxygen level, a hormone called erythropoietin is made. This hormone stimulates RBC production in the bone marrow, which will increase the number of RBC 's and hemoglobin, and therefore, oxygen as well. Part III- Airlift A Gammow bag is essentially a portable hyperbaric chamber which matches the conditions of atmospheric pressure at sea level. The bag would help by giving the body the extra oxygen, wanting to increase blood O2 and thus allowing his body to disperse it to other cells, maintaining homeostasis.…

A pneumothorax is a condition in which air gets trapped between the lungs and the chest wall. This pressure causes the lung to collapse inward onto itself. As member of both the Army National Guard and Army ROTC, I am very interested in this topic since it is a serious injury that can occur due to traumas on the battlefield. In army lingo, this injury is referred to as a sucking chest wound. We are instructed to treat it during basic combat lifesaving courses.…

During the process, the lungs are able to accumulate more oxygen than it can normally do at normal conditions. We ensure that our oxygen chamber is made from high-quality materials and craftsmanship. They are reliable and will not break down when in use. We also test our oxygen chambers to standards that are more than what is required from us by the medical industry. We have perfected the art of hyperbaric treatment, and right from the start, we make sure that our standards are maintained with every product we have to offer.…

If a patient is mildly hypoxic a respiratory therapist might choose to administer oxygen through a nasal cannula or simple mask. If the patient is severely hypoxic they might choose to administer oxygen through a high flow device like a venturi mask or a non rebreather. It is the respiratory therapists job to check the saturation levels of a patient to keep track if the oxygen protocol is working by keeping the saturation levels around 92-100. In some cases the respiratory therapist will need to administer a humidifier to help comfort the patient while they are receiving oxygen. Since oxygen is a dry gas it sometimes makes the persons nose or airway become dry and…

The objective of this essay is to discuss with reference to published literature “ICU diaries are frequently promoted as being beneficial for the patients’ psychological recovery from critical illness”. Intensive care unit (ICU) is an environment where often the most fragile patients are, and where they receive treatment. During their sometimes prolonged stay in ICU, patients often experience strong physical and psychological stress, including critical life threatening illness, terror, lack of privacy, noises, pain, sedation, sleep deprivation, delirium and the unnatural ICU environment (Ullman and all, 2014). These experiences impact on a patient’s recovery from critical illness and may result in both physical and psychological disorders (Ullman…
