Osborne High School on April 13,2016 played Majestica and Hymnsong Variance. Overall Performance had little tiny mistakes but put it back together and overall they played the best they have, they have been working so hard they finally got what they deserve. There is always room for improvement and getting better. Dislikes for Majestica are flutes miscommunicated. Likes for Majestica are Sounded really good because they did everything needed to fix, Stuck together, for the most part, Could hear Kade, and they let the melody be their song not just one section overpowering. Dislikes for Hymn Song Variance Kade got to soft in some parts so you couldn’t really hear him.
Downs on April 13, 2016, played On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss and Radetzky March.

The event that I decided to go was BYU Baroque Ensemble, a production made by BYU students, taking place at Madsen Recital Hall Harris Fine Arts Center on November 3. The idea of making a baroque orchestra is where musician get together to make a perfect composition of music, the baroque orchestra is made up mostly of stringed instruments, when you listen you feel something different that makes you see it from another perspective, you just can’t stop listening and focus on every note that the musicians are playing. The type of instruments that were utilized in conjunction were the basso continuo, played by a viol, cello or bassoon. Other parts were added between the melody and the bass by a keyboard instrument, usually a harpsichord or organ and the development of tonal harmony, in which the melodic voices movement remains under the functional chord progression.…

During high school, I participated in the KYYMCA Youth and Government program. The paramount conference of this program is called the Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA). This conference serves as a mock session of the Kentucky legislature in which students are able to propose and debate bills. Thus, students become well-versed in debate procedure and, most of all, familiar with the rap of the gavel following the ruling on a bill’s passage. Students will either hear the phrase, “It is the decision of the chair that this bill has been passed, and it has” (rap rap), or “It is the decision of the chair that this bill has failed, and it has” (rap rap).…

“Earth’s Song” is a two movement suite for piano, violin, and viola. Each movement is inspired by some beautiful aspect of nature, and seeks to paint a picture of nature’s masterpieces through music. The first movement, titled “Morning Lake,” depicts a young couple rowing a boat on a calm lake. The couple sets up their rowboat right before a sunrise. At the very beginning of the movement is a calm, beautiful section, which is meant to depict how peaceful, calming, and relaxing it is to float on water while basking in the sounds of the early morning: with birds, insects, and stillness.…

Introduction The Imprecatory Psalms, according to Bullock, are “psalms of anger” and “psalms of wrath” in which the “psalmist prayed that evil would befall their persecutors.” This forum entry reflects on the Imprecatory Psalms in relation to their Old Testament context; what they teach about God and God’s judgement; and how they should be viewed in light of the New Testament. Finally, the author’s conveys his view as to whether the Imprecatory Psalms should be used as a model for prayer. Imprecatory Psalms in the Context of the Old Testament Bullock categorizes Psalms 35, 55, 59, 69, 79, 109, and 137 as imprecatory.…

The music of the younger generation always seems to strike fear into the hearts of the older generation. One only has to think of the beginnings of Rock and Roll and how the older crowd predicted youthful promiscuity, violence and anarchy. It’s easy to see why the idea of censoring music came about and how that idea still plays out in the music of today’s youth. One only has to listen to certain songs on the radio today to find that the “bleep” of censorship is still in fashion. Oddly enough however, when one searches “songs about censorship” on the internet, one finds that there is far more information about songs that have been censored than there is about songs dealing with censorship.…
