Career and College Research Paper The normal job of a HVAC technician is mostly simple but sometimes challenging. They are the ones that get the heat, air conditioning, and air purity machines running and keep them running properly. I chose this career because I like to work on mechanical things and see how they work. HVAC technicians have plenty of hands on time which I very much enjoy. No matter the amount of training achieved work can still be hard to come by. The workplace of a HVAC technician changes greatly even in a day. It can go from working on a window unit in a little house to working on a 10,000 ton unit cooling a 100 story tower to installing a furnace in a house that never had one(“Summary”). Work hours can vary greatly or be …show more content…
A few examples are that you have to be very reliable, technical minded, have lots of patience and composure. You will have to be good at communication and have a active personality. You have to be reliable for the company to trust you enough to do a good job in the field. You also have to have lots of patience for customers that are not in a good mood, when customers are not in their so called comfort zone they usually will be cranky and grumpy. You will need to have good communication skills to be able to talk with customers and coworkers efficiently. You will need to have an active personality, which basically means that if you see something wrong or something that is not to your liking then you will aggressively do what you can to fix it("Character Traits of HVAC Technicians | Tulsa Welding School."). There are also a few character traits that you must have to be a good HVAC technician. Such as personable, which means that you are good with people and easy to talk to. You will also need a good work ethic, Trust me in this one you will need a good work ethic or else you will fail and hate your job, no matter the field or job.
