Generally both parties want to feel as though their needs are being taken into consideration. As a third-party it may seem hard to gain the trust of both parties. Neutrality is important, and I will do so by taking both parties needs and desires into account in order to better bring about a feeling of togetherness. Focusing on what makes them similar instead of what makes them different can help create a sense of unity that will open them up to cooperation.
A lack of cooperation will continue to perpetuate racial tension. Cooperation may at first seem like a diminishing of power and control that one party has, but instead it helps create a new power for the now unified group. By working towards a communal approach to power then there will be no need for negative competition against one another. Collaboration encourages better communication as well as puts their understanding of each other into action. The resolution then becomes customized to each of their needs within the new group.
After coming to an understanding of the issue and each other that will be achieved through neutrality I can better focus on the needs and desires of each party. Through a realization of each party's similarities over their perceived differences unity is better
