Yesterday early Saturday morning a disaster struck, a tropical storm turned into a disaster. Starting from Texas coast, making landfall at 2:10am over Galveston Island, travelling north creating havoc destruction in its path. The storm struck the US as a 600-mile wide putting Hurricane Ike in category 2, causing floods, damage to cities and hitting areas still damaged by Hurricane Gustav and 2005’s Rita. Before moving to Hispaniola, Cayman Islands, Mississippi, Florida Keys, Cuba, Louisiana, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Dominican Republic, Eastern Canada, Haiti and Great Lakes region, but not before reaching its highest peak a category 4 hurricane.
