Civil liberties are the basic rights guaranteed to all citizens in a country without any further specialty. These same rights are being stripped away from people in times of crisis like during The Hurricane Katrina, Zeitoun Abdulrahman, a man who did not evacuate, was wrongfully arrested by the police because of a terrorism suspect and detained for many days. His civil liberties were stripped away from him. A recent crisis, Hurricane Harvey, civil liberties were violated against people. In times of crisis, civil liberties should not be suspended because innocent people get hurt and certain minorities may feel they were targeted because of their race.
