I was one of the first recruits for the debut of the volunteer program at the Huron Valley Ambulance service and I played a role in shaping the program from within.
I was made aware by my instructor that the paramedics were having difficulties accepting the idea of a volunteer program as they worried that volunteers would only be a liability and a chore to babysit.
