Bow vs. Rifle If you want a challenging and exciting hunt, bow hunting is the way to go! Although hunting by rifle is widely used, studies show that the popularity of bow hunting has grown drastically over recent years. Hunting by bow is safer, has a longer hunting season, and it develops new motor skills. The best way to hunt by far, is by bow. Hunting by bow is safer than hunting by rifle in many aspects. The arrow does not travel as far as a bullet therefore there will be less downrange incidents. The rifle season is roughly two weeks when bow season is multiple months. When using a bow, a season that long gives you more time to scout the deer you are interested in. Also, while rifle season is going on it will push the deer to a quieter part of the woods, due to the noise of a rifle. Typically where bow hunters are, giving them more deer to choose from. The long season for bow hunting makes rifle hunters more interested in switching to bow or hunting with rifle and bow, to have a long and joyful hunting season. Hunting by bow takes more concentration, control, and more dedication than rifle. Rifle hunters can walk out and kill a deer within minutes due to the range, while a bow kill can take several months to several hunting seasons to get the deer you thrive to get. Since bow hunting is so challenging it makes you respect the deer and enjoy being in the woods to cherish the animal in its natural habitat with no interruptions. One of the many skills you develop as a bow hunter is patience, you develop patience when you are waiting for the perfect deer to come into range. The range of a bow is a lot less than a rifle therefore it takes longer to get a good shot. Strength is another great skill you develop as a bow hunter, because you have to be able to pull back the bow, which is set to a weight suitable to you but must be set to a heavy enough weight to still make a clean kill, as when you are rifle hunting you just raise up the rifle and shoot with not as many worries as a bow. Bow hunting takes more practice to get where you need to be to make a good kill, but when you are rifle hunting you just sight in your rifle and does not take any more practice than
