Hunting over the years has lost its purpose of for food to a trophy. Hunting has caused pain and suffrage to animals of all kinds. For animals that are close knit and mate for life hunting has caused devastation to their entire community. Could you imagine losing a member of your family multiple times a year? Even if the animal isn’t killed on spot it is injured and would die from infection. Hunters will always have the upper hand because they are killing with weapons they cannot outrun. Hunters manipulate animals’ habitat by burning and bulldozing forests to increase the food supply for target species, at the expense of non-target species (LCA). But to others, it is a weakness because people are killing animals who cannot defend themselves. Animals have no liable source of protection in their own natural habitat. Hunters commonly used hound dogs. The hound dogs would tear the animals to shreds. But the down side is most dogs would get lost and never found and when the season is over they are often let loose to fend for themselves. The most commonly hunted animal were deer and hares. Hunting for sport is considered wasteful, an indulgence in luxury (encyclopedia). Hunting for sport has caused much fear with all animals along with predators, deforestation, noise, etc. Some wildlife agencies set hunting seasons on some animals during the time that they give birth to and nurse their offspring (LCA). The agencies are more protective of sport hunting than wildlife itself. As a result, mothers are often killed while searching for food for their young (LCA).
