In the article, “the Politics of Hunger, Paul Collier discussed the food price crisis and how it was stemmed from the increased demand of food in Asian countries. The increase of demand was connected to three problems: the failure to promote commercial farming, specifically in Africa, the ban against genetically modified organisms in the European Union, and the usage of American grains to produce ethanol instead of food.
