The Hunger Games The book The Hunger Games was written by a woman named Suzanne Collins. Suzanne Collins is most known for writing this book and the following books of the Hunger Games Trilogy. The Hunger Games is the first book of the series. It introduces the story of how the hunger games got started and why. This first book develops the characters in an amazing fashion, I enjoyed the detail; I felt as though I knew the characters personally. This story is based in a post apocalyptic future where the nation is split into twelve different districts. Each district annually sacrifices one male and one female aged from twelve to eighteen to be put into the Hunger Games which is broadcast on live television for the citizens of the capital to …show more content…
He is your basic dictator. He keeps his subjects in check with the use of fear and that is why the Hunger Games is still in use. He must keep face in the eyes of the people or he will feel as though he is losing his hold on them. If anyone disrupts his power it is quickly followed by death. He is challenged by Katniss and Peeta because they forced him to allow them both to live. Snow is a vengeful man and desires to see Katniss punished for challenging his authority and rules.
The Hunger Games is definitely made up from pathos. This whole book draws you in with emotion. When the characters are feeling an emotion you feel the same emotion as if you yourself are experiencing it. I give credit to the writing because it captures your attention to the point where you cannot put the book down. I was so emotionally attached to this book that I felt almost empty after it was over. However, I was very satisfied with everything in this book. I especially enjoyed the emotion between Peeta and Katniss; he loved her so much and I just wanted her to love him

One should not lead an oppressed life when they can make a change to live freely. I believe that Suzanne Collins Wrote these books for multiple reasons, One being: post apocalyptic stories are really in right now. Also because oppression is something that everyone faces at some point in their life, even if it 's in small amounts, you have to decide whether you are going to take a stand or be held down. Taking a stand is a huge part of history as well we make changes for ourself if we don’t agree with how we are being treated. Maybe it was even Collins way of standing up herself. The moment when the uprising truly sparks is at the end of the book when Peeta and Katniss find a way to defeat the system of the Games by attempting committing suicide together. “We both know they have to have a victor” (344). They either had to crown two victors or have no victor at all.
I love this book more than any other book I’ve ever read. It really drew me in and I couldn’t put it down. I am very disappointed that this book is already over and that there only two books left. I am already excited to read the next books in the trilogy once I can get my hands on them. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in a good

Written by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games is about a totalitarian nation, called Panem, which is divided into twelve districts. Each year, one boy and one girl are selected from each district to perform in the Hunger Games, a fight to the death to show retribution to a past rebellion as well as to provide entertainment for the Capitol. Totalitarian societies form so that the governments can have absolute control over the individual, and those in control grant neither recognition nor tolerance of those with different opinions. The ideology of most totalitarian governments restricts individual freedoms and leaders often use torture and fear to prove their power. This, along with other aspects of totalitarian governments, causes national conflicts, leading to rebellion.…

In the Hunger Games president Snow is the leader, he is located at the capitol and is the “game 's” leader. He oversees the games, the players and tries to corrupt the members of the capital into thinking that the destroying of the districts, the games, and killing is all apart of a big game. As in 1984 Big Brother is compared to president snow, the people both fear them their leaders.…

Throughout the games, Katniss has the internal struggle of choosing between two things, her allies and friends she makes during the games or survival, which means getting back home to her sister Prim and her best friend Gale. At one point, Katniss even attempts to sacrifice herself and a friend in an act of rebellion against the cruel, vindictive President Snow that has supressed, starved and tortured the districts for 74 years.…
