Hunger Games Movie Comparison

The 74th Hunger Games was the Hunger Games that changed the lives of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. The Hunger Games is a televised event in the world of Panem where one female tribute and one male tribute are sent to fight to the death for food and money. These 24 men and women have to fight and kill each other until there is only 1 person left. Once only one person is left alive, they will be considered “victor” and will be able to go home with lots of food and money. The 74th Hunger Games was different. This Hunger Games, there were 2 victors. Katniss and Peeta won the hearts of everyone in Panem by showing their love for each other. Or so they thought. President Snow told Katniss that he doesn’t believe that she has and endless love for Peeta. He tells her that she has to prove to him and everyone in Panem that they have true love for each other. On their Tour of Victors, they start to see a rebellion in the different districts. In the end, they learn that there is going to be a 75th Hunger Games for the previous victors, and they are going to be in it. During the movie, there are many depictions of PTSD. PTSD, or post traumatic stress disorder, is a disorder that happens when someone has or witnesses a life-threatening experience. According to The Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the detailed definition of post traumatic stress disorder is, “a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of a life-threatening events such as military combat, natural disasters, terrorist incidents, serious accidents, or physical or sexual assault in adult or childhood”. This experience can happen both when they are an adult and when they are a child. PTSD happens when someone relives their experience in their thoughts and dreams.
