They became the victim to be a minority group. They were in good positions and just to take their positions, Sinhalese isolated them which was a wrong movement. They become separated from their right economic positions. They had to face a sudden poverty and insecurity. They eventually lost their basic facility which they needed to survive. When they become isolated, they could not travel safely, so they needed their own recruit group. They also did not get citizenship and proper documents and many of them got killed. For their safety, they had to form their own recruit group (LTTE). For recruit groups, they needed weapons and for that they need money. To get enough money for building their recruit group and for their own society to work, Tamils started to earn money by various criminal activity which is why Tamil Tigers have done so many criminal activities such as drug dealing and various attacks on people. Even though whatever the Tamil Tigers are doing is very bad, but there is a reason behind how this dangerous group formed. It’s the community which at first wanted to vanish Tamils. They were an economically strong group, but their job position, social position snatched by the majority group of the society in Sri Lanka and this is what first provoked Tamils to do the criminal activity to get their rights which later leads them to become a terrorist group. After the civil war end in 2009, the Tamil families are still suffering in Sri Lanka. In the article, “Six years after the end of Sri Lanka's civil war, Tamils in Jaffna still struggling to rebuild their lives” by Clara Tran points out that after 6 years, Tamil civilians are still trying to rebuild their life. The Tamil residents who never supported Tamil Tiger’s activity, they are also suffering . They are living under property, they lost their lands, and their houses are destroyed. Fishers and farmers also cannot work because they have no boats or property. Even though current president land then to use 400 hectares land, but this is not enough for this big community. They even do not have fresh water. Their water wells have been damaged and they don't have enough equipment to built new wells. The normal civilian of Tamil suffered from both LTTE and government and still suffering. Current government promising many things for them but unable to make those happen. (Clara Tran). In another anticle, “6 years after war, Tamil families want to know where their loved ones are” by Shashank Bengali states that many of family’s of Tamil Terrorist still looking for their beloved one who joined LTTE and never come back.
