That number, most likely, means nothing to you. For a person far removed from the harsh reality of others. For me it is the number of days for which I have been an ‘outcast’. The number of days of which I have resisted the tempting grasp of suicide, which beckoned to me so clearly. The number of days my debilitated and blackened soul has been filled with vengeance, vengeance for a man who has changed me into this pathetic excuse of a human being. It is merely but a gratuitous insult.

Other days, I feel nothing at all. I don't know what's worse; drowning beneath the waves or dying from the thirst
My cupped hands take in the water. A shadow overcasts me. Looking up I see it is him. Ozymandias. For that is his name. He stands as imposing as the statue which was built in his supposed honour. I feel utter contempt for this man. Even now his malevolent laugh echoes within my eardrums. That sneer of cold command. The last thing my wife saw before she was ruthlessly seized from me and ...

His cold heart radiates a dark aura. I am wary of him. I feel paralysed and my mind numb. In a smooth movement he has the chain from the cup around my neck and I feel my life being seized from of me. Out of the corner of my eyes my son is crouched behind the bushes. I put my fingers to my lips to silence him. Ozymandias shall claim my son. Not like he has claimed me. No, I will not let him.
In that instance I realised something. I realised what my most invaluable possessions are.
My integrity and my word. Two things that are not tangible in physical aspect but the two valuable things that can be gifted to a person. Without these... we have nothing and are worth even less.
