This coming July marks the 16th wedding anniversary for my husband and I. Boy oh boy have I learned so much and have come so far in my marriage. Thank God for His grace, mercy, and guidance. What a blessing I have been given.

One lesson I've learned is the importance of pursuing each other. I believe this one thing can make or break a marriage.

I know for me, when my husband takes the time to fill up my love bucket, shows appreciation and makes an effort; I feel closer to him, cherished and loved.

Husbands need to feel respected and loved.

Pursue your man, ladies!

As a christian wives, God calls us to pursue our spouses whether they return the pursuit or not. Of course, marriage as a whole functions so much better when both spouses submit to God and honor their spouses, but reality is - sometimes you have to fight for your marriage.

#1 Pray for him.
Pray for your man! I'm not speaking of a "Lord change him!" kind of prayer. Be humble asking God to bless, help and change you both into the man and woman He wants you to be. Pray the Armor of God over you husband. The enemy is out to get your him, because he is the head of the house. The enemy knows if he can

Choose your words carefully, putting a filter over your mouth. Let your words and attitude be full of grace, mercy, love and

It is truly amazing just how simple it is to stop doing the things that have been proven to work. It has to do with the human inclination to become bored and dissatisfied and to begin looking for something different. If people would remember that the foundational things in a relationship must be maintained, there would be far fewer marriages that end in divorce. In the dating season two individuals learn to love each other and cherish every moment they have together. They talk for hours about little things, they notice all kinds of things that others never see.…

According to the article, “Will Your Marriage Last?” by Brooke Lea Foster, there are many factors that come into play when it comes to having a happy, successful marriage and avoiding divorce. On the other hand, Foster states that there are more factors that may distress a marriage thus leading to divorce rather than maintaining a happy marriage. Some factors that lead to divorce are interracial marrying, moving in prior to marrying, and having a child (Foster 107). I can agree with Foster that it is surprising to find out that moving in with your partner prior to marriage would lead to feeling like they are forced into a life long commitment rather than choosing to be in one. I find this to be extremely surprising considering that living together before marrying would be beneficial in seeing whether the partnership would work out.…

Looking back over my notes and reflection journals, it is clear that my experience in FAML 160 was profoundly affected by the fact that I took FDREL 200 (The Eternal Family) during the same semester. The top ten things that I want to remember are a combination of things I learned and felt through both classes. 1- I want to remember the goal I set at the beginning of the semester to continue to work on the five things the Bishop challenged each family in our ward to do this year; which are to have daily personal and family prayer, to have daily personal and family scripture study, to have weekly Family Home Evening, to attend the Temple regularly, and to never miss a Sacrament Meeting. I also set a goal to spend more one-on-one time with my…

Again, it is vital for a Christian counselor to pray before and after every session. Next, I would encourage them by letting them know it is not God’s desire for their marriage to fail and it is worth fighting for (Clinton, Sibcy). Many times, marriages reach the brink of destruction through small issues building up over time with no resolution. The cheap fairytale stories found in television series and movies have distorted the true relationship of a marriage. People enter into marriage believing it will remain in a honeymoon state forever, which is certainly not the case.…
