Humorous Wedding Speech: World War I And You

I am writing you this letter because I wanted to express to you what I could not in speech. I have a unique awareness of the happiness you brought Justin. You see, Justin and I have, by chance perhaps, a similar past. We both met someone very special in Germany that made us very happy. I too would enjoy an evening out far away from Americans, patriotic fantasy, and the military post. It was really a sense of freedom being all alone in a foreign land. When I saw Katja for the first time, I knew she was something special. I had never felt a love so deeply, yet the happiness I felt in those few months would indeed never return. Our relationship did not survive the deployment. It was very tragic for me, and I fell into a dark place. I always assumed my darkness was caused by an abrupt end to my happiness. …show more content…
I write this to you because I know that the heart and soul you gave to my brother was not in vain. You did indeed bring him a great deal of happiness. You filled the void that war so often creates. It is not possible for me to feel what Justin was feeling, but I do know that you was and still are his life blood. It is also important for you to know that somehow and perhaps with guilt and reluctance that things, even the worst things possible, improve with enough time devoted to knowledge and spirit. I hope this letter does not bring you heartache and please forgive me if it does. If you ever need a listening ear and an open heart, I

I have always had a pretty distinct understanding of who Justin VanderZwaag is. As his other half of almost three years, I knew there was always something more to know about him. It’s kind of hard to get things out of him especially when they are sentimental things. It’s almost like he doesn’t want anyone to know how thoughtful and kind he is. While I was interviewing him he opened up into this man I didn’t know, the type of man that caught my heart.…

I am writing to thank you for your service to the United States and wish you a happy Veterans Day. The magnitude of your selflessness and courage is incomprehensible to me, and though these may be trite words, I sincerely mean what I say. I can think of no experience more inherently laudable and worthy of profound respect than serving in the armed forces. What compounds my gratitude of your service specifically is your modesty in discussing your service. Indeed, I believe you mentioned your service only once or twice in class.…

“On this Veterans Day, let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live free.” -Dan Lipinski `With so much business in life these days, it is common to forget that our own everyday life is much different than that of those out fighting for our country. We often forget that not everyone in this country gets to see their families everyday and that often, our service men and women go weeks, even months, without seeing their loved ones, and more often than not, they miss birthdays, anniversaries, and even holidays, due to their commitment to keep this country free.…

“It doesn’t matter if you lost, the only thing that matters is that you don’t give up.” As a child, you told me this when I was struggling with math and penmanship. As a teenager, you consoled me by saying those words when I didn’t place in Current Events at Academic Decathlon. That phrase that would pass through my head when I was a little kid, is now engraved in my heart and in mind. Because you were there for me every single step of the way in my life, as an inspirational American soldier who advised me on how I could bravely reach my full potential while being that special guardian who take care of me when my parents were away.…

Introduction: Good morning teacher and my fellow students, today I will present to you all my speech topic: World War 2; a war that involved 12 countries and probably one of the bloodiest wars in all of history; a war that changed the world forever. Subtopic 1: When and How did World War 2 Start? World War 2 began on September 1, 1939; the Germans planned an unprovoked attack on Poland, then Britain and France got involved after Adolf Hitler – the German leader of the Nazis – refused to abort his attack on Poland which developed the warfare of Europe. Another reason was the Marco Polo bridge incident, which lead to warfare between China and Japan.…
