Andrew’s Wedding Speech If you think about raising children as a kind of iterative-process, than the first-born, Andrew in this case, is a kind of rough draft and you work out all the kinks by the time you get to the third, Maddy. The logic is there, but the way things turned out for our family is… Well— it’s like starting an essay at 10 that’s due at midnight and still getting an “A”. Private Life, Public Terror Buildings crashing and falling down piece by crumbling piece, skies blackened by debris, smoke filling airways and making its way into lungs of those watching in horror, screams of children petrified in the wake of disaster, and tears cried for the very last time of lives taken much too soon in attack that will later be known as the worst to ever occur on American soil. While some civilians are hesitant over the thought of “losing” privacy, monitoring of cell phone and internet use is crucial in preventing further terrorist attacks like those of 9/11,…

Any joy that had ever came from wedding dress shopping had been sucked out as soon as the government began deciding who gets to marry who. Hence the lifeless forms of the brides to be milling about the store, waiting their turn to be stuffed into a dress that would overpower any sense of oneself.…
