I don't need to let them know how uncommon their relationship is, that they have to support and look after it. That they need to regard and tend to each other, reassure each other, and cherish each other. I know these two, and I realize that they know very well indeed what they have to do, and what will do. I thought I'd compose the world's most noteworthy Best Man toast. I invested hours examining the Internet, looking for wedding verses, pledges, Tibetan proverbs, and even ESPN, searching for the basic understanding and direction that only a Best Man can give. Oh, all without any result. So whatever I can state is this. I cried when Brian let me know that he would ask Brenda to wed him, and the following week I cried when I heard the answer was yes.
