Essay On Abortion Is Murder

Abortion is arguably the most prominent issue in the United States. Whether it comes to political policy or just someone’s moral standpoint, abortion means so much to citizens. The Bible does not directly touch upon abortion. Nowhere in the text does it directly say the word “abortion,” however it does discuss a baby’s life. In many instances, it speaks of the baby’s life and how it is sacred. Jeremiah 1:4-5 states “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you” (The Holy Bible), God was saying how he knows the child before they are born and has a plan for them. Every life is sacred, whether they are born or not. The Bible in many ways describes how a child’s life is sacred whether born or not, abortion is not supported by the Bible and this is …show more content…
Under the ten commandments it states that “Thou shalt not kill” (The Holy Bible). For anyone who is a pro-life supporter they will argue that abortion is murder. You are downright killing an unborn baby. As stated in The Bible Now “In Hebrew as in English and some other languages, killing is killing, and murder is murder. The commandment in the Decalogue is “you shall not murder.” One can be against abortion or for it. One can have a strong conviction that abortion is murder or that it is not.” (Friedman, & Dolansky, 5). This concept all comes from the idea of how a certain person interprets the Bible. Anyone who is a pro-life supporter will interpret this concept that abortion is murder. When you break it down it is in fact murder. As stated earlier God has a plan for everyone before they are born. A baby is formed from conception and in majority of cases an abortion is performed when the child has already started to develop. Therefore, these cases help show how abortion is indeed murder. Also, another way to back up that it is murder is if a human fetus is considered as a scared human being. In Red Letter Christians Campolo discussed how “For most Red Letter Christians, the issue comes down to whether or not a human fetus is a sacred human being created in God’s image. If the answer to that question is yes, then abortion must be regarded as murder- and there is no doubt that murder is forbidden in the Scripture” (Campolo, 5). Campolo raises quite a few points here. Ultimately he is saying that if a fetus is considered a sacred human being than there is no doubt that abortion is murder. Well in many cases it has been previously stated that god has had a plan for you from conception and therefore that is helping reinforce how a fetus is regarded as a sacred human being. Campolo declares how there is no doubt that murder is forbidden in the Bible, and since a fetus is considered to be a sacred human

Abortion has been a very controversial and sensitive topic since the legalization of the procedure in 1988. Those in favour of legal abortions are considered pro-choice, while those who oppose are pro-life. Douglas Groothius’s short essay titled “Why I am pro-life, a short, non-sectarian argument” briefly explains his perspective on abortion. Groothius believes the procedure should be illegal under nearly all circumstances, with only one exception: if the pregnancy is threatening to the mother’s life. Groothius considers abortion to be murder, as abortion is the surgical or chemical removal of a fetus from the mother, thus killing the fetus.…

Ty’onna Key Philosophy Paper Don Marquis claims that abortion is immoral and therefore impermissible in most cases. I will argue that abortion is not immoral and should be permissible in all cases. Marquis says abortion is immoral because you take away the fetus’ right to a future like ours. He believes this is the same as killing an adult human, which is considered immoral. He argues that killing an adult human is wrong and the adult has the same value as a fetus then abortion is also wrong.…

Abortion is a procedure that murders innocent lives that cannot defend themselves. People that agree with abortion say that an unborn baby has no constitutional rights, and that it is okay to end a human life because the baby is not an American citizen yet. When a pregnant mother is killed it is considered a double homicide, yet when a baby is aborted it is not considered murder. Abortion is a problem in today’s society, causing a division; it is morally wrong because it is considered to be murder. Abortion is performed two different ways, both ways have temporary and long term damage to who would have been a mother.…

Can you kill someone who is not alive? Of course, all of these questions have left the issue unsolved. Overall, Muslims who support abortion have the best argument.
