He shows lots of strength and power, but his happiness comes with a dark, intimidating pain. I believe that he does his actions to relieve the pain that he is facing on the inside, where his idea of humanity has been twisted and corrupted. “But look at me now,” he says, disgusted. “I’m a veritable whale. Dr. Alexander Potter is a character that had already been through a lot of pain, so his humanity was basically non-existent until he was faced with near death.
