The humanistic perspective supports ideas of everyone being unique and valuable, human behavior is driven by a desire for growth and personal meaning, and people make radical changes (Morton, 2016). This perspective is best supported by the new life Laura has created for herself. At the age of 42 now, she has made radical changes to improve the life for her and her children. She was driven to change after what she experienced with Danny to make better. In previous case studies, we learned that Laura was interested in receiving a master’s degree in social work and work within the community. She accomplished this goal eight years ago by receiving her master’s degree and now she works for a non-profit human service agency for low-income families in El Paso.
