I’ve chosen to cover this topic because now more than ever news specials are being broadcast and even though each story as similar as the next they’re very captivating. The statistics on this issue is overwhelming and it involves just about every type of criminal act known. It’s become an absolute phenomenon in the United States of America.

When we come across the term 'human trafficking', we most often take into consideration people, especially women and children, brought to the United States for the purpose of labor and sexual exploitation (The FBI-Human Trafficking, 2008). What we fail to notice is the fact that the issue of human trafficking is as serious within the United States as it is at the global level. When we refer to human trafficking in the United States, it also includes trafficking of people within the country (The FBI-Human Trafficking, 2008).
