“First they notice your payroll from careers doesn’t match others. Such as large amounts of money or little amounts of money” (Financial Red Flags 2). Frequently they cash payroll checks that go back into the employers account creating another red flag to institutes (Financial Red Flags 2). As these all affect the money they earn, there is also many ways to detect human trafficking financially. Such as, accounts being a funnel account. Such as cash being deposited in cities they don't live in or do business in. (Financial Red Flags 2). As there is much more to noticing the red flags, financial institutes can’t jump to the conclusion that their customer is possibly part of human trafficking. It takes time and a pattern before turning them in to law enforcement. As financial institutions can notice these Red Flags, technology is making it so much easier to get away with. Technology has made a way for live feeds to exist. Sex tourist will watch others beat and sexually abuse children (Pittaro and Normore 2). Human trafficking is growing rapidly. “It is a multibillion-dollar criminal empire. It estimates from $32 billion to $150 billion per year” (Pittaro and Normore 1). As it hurts us economically, human trafficking criminals only get up to 30 years in prison. It doesn’t always work the way public thinks though. Typically the victim is charged with the crime instead of the true criminal. (Pittaro and Normore 2). As it has been noted, children are often the victim. ‘Roughly two million children are trafficked a year” (Pittaro and Normore 2). In the cases of children being trafficked, they are often detained and put into juvenile systems even though they are the victims (Reid 206). As it is difficult to grasp the issue as a whole, the public awareness could slowly help victims and law enforcement put an end to the issue. While the affects on victims and the economy is known, there has not been a lot of advocacy to stop it. After looking over these facts it should be evident that this problem is growing world wide, and is hard to put a stop to. As the public they need to be aware of possible signs of human trafficking and report it if they feel someone is in danger. The amount of people being trafficked, is only growing. Hopefully in the the near future with more awareness to the public, this can
