Nobody wants to be in the position where a man has complete control over their body. Human trafficking is an illegal act of the auction of one’s body to be used for “sexual favors”. These victims bodies are being used for the own benefit of these older men known as “pimps”, a pimp is a man who arranges for the victim to meet up with the client and the pimp takes part of the money paid for the girl in return. Pimps have a certain amount of girls that they consider “their” property and they can do whatever they want with them. Human trafficking is a problem and it puts many lives in danger. For the sake of these women and children, human trafficking should be put to an end. To start off, many may agree human trafficking is a big issue. This profession has been around for many years. Thus, it has had time to build up a community for itself and getting rid of it will not be easy, “some countries ban the sale of sex, while others ban the purchase. Neither works particularly well” (Picard 2). The government needs to focus on keeping the vulnerable safe. Another issue is that woman and children are being targeted, “Women, and transgender sex workers end up more vulnerable to exploitation and violence because they won’t go to police, and they are far less likely to seek medical care, even for sexually transmitted infections such as HIV” (Picard 2).
