Human Services is based on many different services who all have the same goal of helping people in need. These services come in many different forms. A person entering in the human services field need to understand the principles of management for this field are the Human Service Umbrella, forming teams and partnerships, using case management to help clients grow, and the benefits of the evidence-based practice. The Human Services Umbrella is a large network of programs who all have the goal to help their clients who are in need. This is seen in a variety of services such as helping all stages of life from children to elderly and helping in many areas such as but not limited to mental health, education, employment, and physical health. …show more content…
A case manager assesses the needs and works with the individual directly to make sure they are receiving all the available services. There are serval reasons for the need of case management such as the change from large state-operations to smaller community-based facilities, definitive public funding of the past, and the change in the nature of human service work today. Human service workers providers have taken on dual roles of providing services and helping their clients coordinate their other services as well. Our text says, “Helping professionals we know often talk about feeling like an air traffic controller or traffic cop, multitasking and juggling several cases simultaneously. This dual role can create problems in terms of time management, effective and efficient service delivery, and quality assurance,” (Woodside et all, 2015, p21). A case manager assesses a client’s needs then provides direct services and also coordinates with other agencies to help their client receive additional services. They will do whatever they need to do provide their client with all the help they can find
