Since my bachelor degree was in a different field and Human Resources Management was not a part of my job as a teacher, I did not have any background of Human Resources Management and although I had to do my own research to understand it in general, the course has given me a wide understanding of Human Resources Management. In all cases, there were two remarkable concepts that I gained from the class which are:
The impact of diversity and technology in the workplace on development. The focus of Human Resources Management should be on skills that employees have and their performance rather than considering them less skilled because of their differences, which has a negative influence on the organization 's development. Diversifying the workforce gives the organization the power to face the challenges that the organization may face. I have learned how is it significant to be an active member in learning activities. I need to improve how to think carefully about my ideas and thoughts before expressing my opinion directly. Likewise, learning not only from the book, but also from others by listening to their opinions and ideas. Also, I need to study smart rather than studying hard. Hearing other people in class room talking about the challenges that they face in their work made me think of what are some of the challenges that I may face in my future career and what are some possible solutions that can be done and what are the best ways to think of the solutions. Lastly, the course made me think about how I think and how to use the experience and knowledge that I have gained from it in an effective

The learning experience of Dr. Norward’s course, Generalist Social Welfare Practice, has allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills and feel more confident working with clients. I have faced many challenges and obstacles, but I have also learned a lot about myself as a student as well as a future social worker. This course has helped me to reignite my passion for activism, but also explore the sort of social work I wish to partake in such as becoming a broker for services. One of the biggest takeaways from the course was when I learned that social work should be seen as both a science and art, two areas that I am fascinated about. I also truly cherished the lecture of self care and have incorporated this into my daily life, but also with…

Diversity plan Diversity in a workplace is, the differences among employees in age, sex, culture, religion and background that they bring to the organization. In this case, to increase the diversity in the HIT department, we can start with developing policies that help in increasing the diversity for example policy for bad activities as bullying and teasing which discourage diversity. Nondiscrimination policy which requires, existing and potential employees to agree to it. And reviewing the policies related to recruitment, promotion, employee performance, and other existing employment policies. The second action will be creating a diversity team which will take care of reviewing employment systems and select proper programs.…

How would I describe this class? I would probably say without hesitation that this class is grueling, exhausting, and stressful (just kidding). Although, I would have to admit that somewhere in the back of my mind, I realize how valuable a class like this is. Nowadays, everywhere I look, people are glued to their phones or other devices; when I was in middle school before everyone had a smartphone, people actually read books in their free time. It is quite sad how many students of this generation will not pick up a book unless it is assigned to them.…

I think that my biggest success in this course was remembering how to actually sit down and write papers/essays/reports. This was my first semester in college after being out of school for a decade and a half. I did not realize how much has changed, and how much I had forgotten until I had to submit my first assignment. I’m not sure if it is funny, or if it is said that when I went to school the first time, was taught to hit the space bar twice after each period, use footnotes, underline titles, and the bibliography went at the end of the paper to complement my footnotes. Through this course, I learned how to do things modernly and properly.…

Diversity is defined as variety, especially the inclusion of people of different race or culture, which happens to be the focus of most diversity initiatives. Diversity in the workplace began in the United States after the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act when the US American industry began to see new categories of workers such as women and those with disabilities. In today’s world, the United States is considered a “melting pot” of ethnic cultures. Due to globalization, diversity has become a huge part of the workplace and therefore it is important for organizations to focus on trying to find ways to deal with having a diverse workforce. As quoted in the article Reflections on Diversity and Organizational development “diversity is an essential…
