Human resource management (HRM) is basically a method or system created to manage people within an organization. With it a human resource manager has three main duties; recruitment, employee compensation, and lastly, defining work.
Some principles are that a business cannot function without having successfully managed this resource. A business cannot be successful if their policies and procedures are not closely connected to the business objectives and strategies of the organization. As stated by Michael Armstrong in his book, a handbook of Human Resource Management, business success “is most likely to be achieved if the personnel policies and procedures of the enterprise are closely linked with, and make a major contribution to, the achievement of corporate objectives and strategic plans." (Armstrong, 1999)
Yet, Human Resources (HR) is to first off “find, secure, guide, and develop employees whose talents and desires are compatible with the operating needs and future goals of the company.” (Inc.com, 2015) Although the human resource management positions itself as a critical asset of an organization, it develops the following functions to make a business sustainable.
First, the recruitment of personal is a process of attracting talent, in selecting, to choose, and to appoint the right candidates for a permanent or temporary position.
