Human Pheromones

Over the past decades a number of studies, experiments, and a lot of online information have been published on chemical signaling between human pheromones which possibly influence aspects of sexual attraction. Many authors proposed and dedicated a large part their studies to explain pheromones in animals and confirmed after many studies that human pheromones also exist, and they explored the effects of that. Pheromones are substances that are released from the body and received by others from the same species. They can be detected by the olfactory system, although humans under developed and underrate their smell sense. Pheromones activate the vomeronasal organ (VNO), and different types and actions of pheromones have, been found body secretions, …show more content…
Pheromones are used by a chemical messenger that are detected by a structure in the nose called the vomeronasal organ (VNO), a small, bilateral, blind tubular chemosensory organ found at the base of the nasal cavity in many mammals, but it is controversial whether this is also found in humans (Levin, 2004). The resources show’s evidence that some varieties of odors and scents are detected by cells within the nasal cavity by main olfactory epithelium (MOE). As a result, the VNO has been exclusively connected to specialized centers of the limbic system, that exert in the part of the brain responsible for exploration, fight and identifying and reacting. Once believed to be purely vestigial organ in humans, the research confirms the existence of the VNO in adult humans as a specialized chemosensory organ that has evolved to detect human sexual pheromones (English, …show more content…
For that reason we have been erasing our natural pheromones, especially with many kinds of different deodorants, perfumes and colognes that play a mask of the natural pheromones. The breakthrough in human pheromones appeared when the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia stated the researchers in 1986 came up with the first human derived and clinically approved pheromone that called by English (2013) “EroScent”. The recommendation is to use the product under the wearer’s nose which will immediately activate the limbic system through the human VNO. According to English (2013), “the limbic system, that part of the brain that is responsible for exploration, flight or fight, for identifying with the environment and reacting to it. By applying EroScent™ under the nose one is directly stimulating one’s own limbic system and keying into the region of the brain that controls our emotions, mood and desires”. The new discovery created the promise to better control and use the pheromones. In our days many different products and kind of pheromones are available on the market, and many times are very confusing the real effect of the products. People who are using the EroScent and most of those others pheromones available have reported a wide range of benefits: elevated mood, enhanced sexual attractiveness, enhanced romantic relationships and enhanced working
