Abstract This assignment will discuss the human development and age-related changes that happen throughout one’s life. I will discuss a few well known psychologist, which will include Sigmund Freud, Erik Erikson, Jean Piaget, and Lawrence Kohlberg, who conducted studies in human development which they classify as a progression of stages throughout life. A stage is a period being developed in which individuals display regular behavior patterns and establish various abilities.

I became fully aware of my thoughts and my surroundings at this stage in my life. I knew at this age that I was a leader and not a follower due to my interactions with the other children in my class. At this age I enjoyed group activities and the interaction with others.
Lawrence Kohlberg’s work altered and elaborated upon Jean Piaget 's past work to develop a hypothesis that clarified how kids develop good moral thinking. In Piaget work he depicted a two-stage procedure of moral advancement within six different phases at three varying levels, while Kohlberg 's hypothesis of moral development delineated six developmental stages inside of three unique levels. Kohlberg broadened Piaget 's hypothesis, recommending that ethical improvement is a consistent process that happens throughout ones lifespan.
My moral thinking was in the process of development way before I was aware of it. I was raised in the church and this process started when I was just a baby. My mother took us to church with her every Sunday. I became aware of my moral development when I turned 5 years of age. It not only provides the stages that humans cognitively develop but provides the understanding and studies of the stages in the growth process in human development. The studies conducted by many of the psychologist have provided the needed information to diagnose possible mental disorders. Psychologist can base many of these diagnoses on the developmental milestones that aren’t being reached on time.
