Over the years of scientific advancements, people have gained access to the sperm banks where sperm gets frozen in liquid nitrogen to be used for later use. One of the most famous banks was The Repository for Germinal Choice created by Robert Klark Graham which was publicized in 1970 (Plotz 1). Although there are many men who can’t have biological children due to many reasons including; low sperm count, poor sperm motility, and abnormal sperm shape (Simon 1), the main question still stands. In order those three things are; health, looks, and then brilliance (Ling Video). Although when the repository is needed, these things should be of influence on the choice, but it shouldn’t be as big of a problem as people make it out to be. The main thing that parents want from a child is that they are healthy. Parents always say “I will love you no matter what.” But the couples will spend hours upon hours choosing the ‘perfect’ donor to be their child’s parent even though the child won’t even know who the other parent is. Until the child is either told or figures it out when they are older they will always believe that the two people raising them are their biological parents as long as they were there for them even through the ups and downs. When someone refers to a friend as family it all just means that they are so close they might as well be family.
