Human Capital Management Human capital management is a staffing approach that perceives people as assets whose value can be determined and whose value can be enhanced through investment. It is important that the board of directors should have a full understanding of this approach before they can approve it to be utilized in the organization. Shawn, who would be making a presentation about human capital management, should make sure that John and the board of directors fully understands the approach in order to make sure that productivity is increased in the organization.

This way, you will avoid lengthy explanations about the approach and hence, you will avoid embarrassing the board. Consequently, the board may not have all the facts about human capital management and it is up to you to ensure that by the end of the presentation they have all the details. The board needs to understand that if they make their employees better, they will provide service to the organization. All the employees are expected to meet certain goals daily, monthly or annually depending on the business the company is involved in. First, Rajiv is biased in rating the employees. For instance, he marked Roger Short the same as other workers even though he had been performing poorly in order to avoid upsetting him. Rajiv is also biased when receiving feedback from the employees and whoever questions him receives a poor rating during the evaluation. Secondly, the appraisal form only had quantity of work, quality of work, and cooperativeness as the criteria for assessment. However, these criteria are very indistinct and do not offer the real worth of performance. Thirdly, Rajiv did not leave any remarks for the workers. This is a negative aspect in that the purpose of the appraisals is to present suggestions and feedback; therefore, the whole purpose of the appraisals is defeated.
