Most of the heroes in the superhero universe can be broken down into three groups. Marvel and DC Comics are the main contributors to this superhero fandom. These two companies even contributed the term superhero. Neither company owns it, they just share it. Many of the interesting heroes/ heroines have brain powers, body powers, and some are even powerless. I like to call this class the Brainiac’s. Not because they are smart, but because they have brain powers. Brain powers include telekinesis, aqua kinesis, telepathy, and many more. The most classic and recognizable candidate for Brainiac’s would-be Jean Grey. “Jean Grey was 10 years old when her mutant telepathic powers first manifested after experiencing the emotions of a dying friend.” …show more content…
There are many of the powers out there like super strength, super speed, shape shifting, healing powers, and many more. The first hero in this category is The Incredible Hulk, he is a perfect representation of this category because radiation mutated Bruce Banner’s genes. This gene mutation turned Bruce into hulk, and gave him some classic powers. The Hulk has super strength, he can jump quite a long distance, and last, although not really a power, he is full of rage. The rage is what keeps Bruce as Hulk. Hulk has been known to use his super strength to throw large objects through the sky. The objects that I know he’s thrown are a couple of tanks, some cars, an alien space shuttle, and even Loki, Thor’s brother. The next guy is a well-known fast one, and his name is The Flash! His superpower is super speed. Flash got his power when he was struck by some magical, mutant lightning bolt. Flash has been known to break the sound barrier on multiple occasions, so if you ever hear a sonic boom happen it may just be Flash. My favorite cross country meets are the ones where we run through the woods. When I run through the woods, I feel like I’m going almost as fast as Flash. I think this is because I’m passing so many trees that I just feel like I have super speed. The next hero is an escaped science experiment, and has the ability to heal himself. He also has a gnarly set of claws on each …show more content…
The skills can include hand to hand combat, technology, archery, and many more. Batman is a perfect contender for this category. Batman has no powers, but he is very rich and very skilled in hand to hand combat. Batman has honed his martial arts skills over many years of grueling training. Batman uses his skill and money to be the hero of Gotham City. Although he’s nothing more than a vigilante to the police of Gotham, I think of him as a hero of the people. The Green Arrow is another powerless vigilante hero. He is very rich like Batman, but instead of hand to hand combat he uses a bow and arrow. The Green Arrow uses his expertise in technology and archery to save the people of star city. The next hero is Black Widow, she is an ex special op who specializes in weaponry. She is now a wonderful addition to the Avengers with her stunning looks, and deadly accuracy. Her name is Black Widow because once you feel the painful sting of her bullet, you know you are going to die. Ant Man has no powers like the rest of the heroes in this category, but what Ant Man does have is a power suit that allows him to shrink to the size of an ant. Ant Man usually fights his battles on the miniature side of things, so if you have any micro problems let Ant man know and he will come to the rescue. The last hero for this category is Tony Stark, the owner of

The Hulk is a fictional superhero created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, who first appeared in the debut issue of the comic book The Incredible Hulk in May 1962 published by Marvel Comics. In his comic book appearances, the character is both the Hulk, a green-skinned, hulking and muscular humanoid possessing a vast degree of physical strength, and his alter ego Bruce Banner, a physically weak, socially withdrawn, and emotionally reserved physicist, the two existing as personalities independent and resenting of the other. Following his accidental exposure to gamma radiation during the detonation of an experimental bomb, Banner is physically transformed into the Hulk when subjected to emotional stress, at or against his will, often leading to destructive rampages and conflicts that complicate Banner's civilian life. The Hulk's level of strength is normally conveyed as proportionate to his level of anger.…

Atlas Comics became Marvel Comics in 1961, that year that the company launched The Fantastic Four and other superhero titles created by Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby and others. Marvel includes well-known characters such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk and Deadpool, such teams as the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy and villains such as Green Goblin, Magneto, Thanos, Hydra and the Red Skull. A lot of Marvel's characters exist in multiple realities and in each universe there certain differences, such as major deaths or changes in powers that change said universe’s history. For example in the Ultimate Universe’s Spider-Man comic Peter Parker, who is the original Spiderman, dies and Miles Morales takes his place as the Web-slinger. All of the Marvel universes together are called the Marvel Multiverse.…

Serving as hope or a voice for the people at a specific time in history. While many of these heroes have been alive on the pages of comics for decades, the recent progression of more racially and gender diverse characters on screen have shed light on the evolution of a superhero and the complexity of their roles in society. Comic books have been around since the 1800s, but the superheroes that audiences know and love today date back to the 1930s, an era commonly referred to as the Golden Age of Comics (according to Johnson, Jamahl). During this time period, Superman, Batman and Captain America, among others, entered the mainstream entertainment and became the materials for countless products spanning across industries every year, the most profitable of which is the superhero…

There are many who object to the sudden diversification of heroes. These readers view the reimagining of classic heroes as travesties against the characters they know and love. Classic heroes such as Spiderman, Captain America, and Thor have been popular for years and with their popularity, these heroes have become associated with certain aspects and appearances. Many fans would argue that a superhero character wouldn’t be considered the same without their classic characteristics. In order to be the heroes, fans know these iconic heroes need to be exactly the way they were when they first appeared.…
