One day, a young and attractive woman named Ariel moved into their neighborhood. Both John and Max were attracted to her and spied on her as she rode her snowmobile around the neighborhood. This began another rivalry between the two men. John and Max tried to beat each other over to Ariel’s house to be the first one to get know her better. One night, Ariel showed up at John’s house to make dinner for the two of them. After that night, Max became stuck in the friend zone as Ariel showed romantic interest in John. It also indicated some common stereotypes people have of older persons. The most obvious stereotype being that all old people are grumpy. There are some people who are grumpy, but it is not true for everyone. In John’s situation, it is understandable as to why he was grumpy.
