Hugebot Characteristics

Something new and exciting has struck the world and trust me this one will be a hit. A new robot, named HugeBot, was created and HugeBot should strike the world with an unlimited amount of potential. This new mega robot has some absolutely breathtaking aspects and abilities that make him such an intriguing human made robot.

HUGEBOT'S AMAZING FEATURES

According to the creator of HugeBot, HugeBot stands over a monstrous seven foot tall, has a built in human-motion recognition system, and can move forward, backward, and has a full 360 degrees rotation. One of the coolest features to this robot is the fact that people can stand on the back of it and can control him via a smart phone steering wheel. This can be thought of as playing Mario Kart Wii with an actual robot and in real life. HugeBot also has an amazing laser firing feature that allows him to shoot various forms of lasers in what is called

All of the features that HugeBot has would make him a great Christmas present for kids looking to have some fun. Now I can not imagine most parents would be able to afford him, but it would make their kids faces glow on Christmas morning. Something that really intrigues me is the idea of making HugeBot a security system or maybe even a war machine. HugeBot could be used for fun and games and all, but if the creators of him are really serious they could turn him into a very prestigious piece of protection. However, their could be danger for the person who would have to control HugeBot as they would literally be behind him and if HugeBot goes down that person would practically be live bait. The endless ideas that HugeBot could achieve could lead him to become a worldwide sensation and who knows he could even end up saving lives in the future. Obviously, HugeBot could be given updates and new features to further advance him, but for now he is a fun and entertaining seven foot

Scientist and engineers are going to keep bringing forth these advances to push the limits of what can be achieved; in order to benefit from these advances we need to show we will accept inventions so long as they have a practical and helpful use for society. Shteyngart talked about the Darpa challenge which was a challenge to create a remote controlled device to be able to react to disaster scenarios where humans couldn’t go due to the dangers. The author talks about the design of Hubo the Robot and how was created to function and compete in the Darpa challenge. The concept of having a machine be able to safely shut down a disaster, such as a power plant melting down, will help us minimize damage caused. Controversy has arose by the scientist on just how smart to make these robots; Oh Jun-ho of KAIST proposes the idea of proportioning a balance of the robot's intelligence and strength.…

Introduced to the FIRST Robotics Competition Team 3102 in sixth grade by my teacher, I became hooked on the program’s emphasis on improving technology education since day one. I wanted to join a program where the most sought-after award is more important than the first place trophy. In fact, the Chairman’s award, which recognizes the team that successfully develops a program aligning with FIRST’s core values of furthering science and technology education, is the most prestigious honor that can be bestowed at a robotics event. The Nevis Tech-No-Tigers program was founded in 2008 by a group of ten close-knit students and two science teachers.…

As technology continues to advance with every passing minute, it seems as if the idea of robots taking over human jobs, whether it be physical or intellectual, no longer seems too far off from reality. While it currently seems likely that machines are on a path to take over human jobs, many still feel uncomfortable with this becoming their reality. Kevin Kelly in his persuasive essay, “Better than Human: Why Robots Will-and Must-Take Our Jobs, assumes that his audience is anti-machine job takeover, and attempts to persuade his audience through the use of logos. Kelly heavily relies on logos throughout his essay, it becomes his crutch as there is insufficient amount of strong evidence that prove his claim.…

The world of artificial intelligence is advancing at a rapid rate with robots becoming increasingly human like everyday. Advancements in these technologies requires us as humans to understand the benefits and the ramifications of introducing this scarcely understood technology into our everyday lives. Blindly allowing a new form of intelligence could be potentially catastrophic if not fully understood as the stability of these technologies are yet to be understood. Within Isaac Asimov's story “Liar!” he attempts to humanize the robot to distance it from the Frankenstein Complex.…

When a Japanese nuclear power plant was damaged in 2011, robots were sent to monitor the situation and save people the risk of radiation poisoning (Moss). There are also some robots in development that are meant to do more than monitor situations. The Atlas robot is perhaps the most advanced of these (Zissou). Atlas was developed at MIT as part of a competition sponsored by the Department of Defense and can drive a car, break through walls, and navigate through debris (Zissou). Atlas was designed specifically to take the place of first responders in disaster situations, especially earthquakes and nuclear meltdowns…

With the advancement in technology, many things that were deemed impossible in the past is now made possible. This can be seen from areas such as robotics technology where this technology is not widely present in the past. In the past, robots are mostly seen in books and films, where they are completely fictional and do not exist in society. However, in this day and age, our robotics industry is growing so rapidly where we have robots that can manage household chores to robots that can provide aid during a natural disaster.
