Huey P. Newton was born on February 17, 1942. Huey was named after a former governor named Huey P. Long . From the very beginning Huey was changing the world. Growing up as a teenager in oakland california. Huey got in trouble with the law in fact all throughout his life. Despite his run ins with the law Huey began to pursue an education.
Huey P. Newton graduated in 1959. He could not read but he was not about to give up. Huey was not a quitter. He taught himself to read and went on to Merritt College. He came to meet Bobby Seale they both had already been involved with political groups before . They came to construct their own political group . Founded in 1966 and was named The Black Panther Party for Self Defense unlike many other political organizations . The party took a military stance. Advocating the ownership of guns by african americans and were often seen brandishing weapons.

on august ,22 ,1989 he was shot in the face by Tyrone Robinson . Tyrone robinson was a drug dealer in oakland and huey owed him money and huey didn’t have it . Robinson pulled a gun on Newton and shot him in the face. It is claimed that Newton's last words were You can kill my body but you can't kill my soul. My soul will live forever.
The relevance of what huey did to help black communities today. he gave black people around the world the chance to experience things like skydiving, traveling, owning land ,cars, houses skyscrapers and more. Huey’s life may not have been adventurous or extravagant. he gave black people like. Dwayne johnson a chance to be an actor or a WWE wrestler or a college football player Dwayne johnson is also known as the rock. he also gave people like morgan freeman the chance to win oscars a be a multimillionaire. He gave his life so that others could enjoy there's
