South Vietnam, Hue Mar.3.1968 The time was 1:43 P.M. The day was nice and Sunny. The Radiant Sun and the Bleached Clouds were in the sky down below There is verdant Grass with Trees and people fighting. You could hear bombs ringing and the sound of soldiers Unpleasant Screams and the soaring bullets hitting trees. You could smell the Burning flesh and the Gun vapor in the air and down on the ground you could smell the Noxious Mud. After his brother left Nava walked down the street and seen a girl named Abby Williams. She had Long chestnut brown Hair and had the most charming Blue eyes That the world had ever seen. She had on a yellow dress with white shoes. Nava walked by her just smiling to himself thinking "she's the most attractive woman I have ever seen in my life. He start to begin to think maybe I should ask her out on a date before I go to boot camp. So he turned around and walked back to her and told her if she would like to go to lunch tomorrow at 12:30 and to meet at Cola Bola. She told her she will think about it and call him to tell him to night. So he went home and ate and sat down and waited for the phone call but it never came. He just went to bed and hoped that she would come tomorrow for lunch and he fall asleep. He woke up at 6:00 A.M. and ate breakfast today was the day to go to boot camp and he had to go to Cola bola to see if Abby would Show up. So he want to and did his Normal Day like go to The laundry and to the store for eggs and milk. Then when the day pasted it became 12:00 and he need to get to Cola Bola fast so he took his Bike and he seen No Abby. So they ate and when they were done Nava said "I'm going to Parris Island Tonight to do boot camp then to South Vietnam."

Abby said " you can't do that what if something happens to you. I don't want you to die Nava please don’t go I beg you."

Nava said " I'm sorry I just have to go to serve My country like the others are doing.

Abby got up from the table and left out the door crying. This made Nava upset because he didn’t know

she liked him that much. He just sat there thinking of her for 30 mins and remembered he had to go down to the bus station and go to Parris Island. So he quickly left and want to his house and packed everything he need and after he did that he went to visit his mom before he had to leave. But he knew she would come to see him leave on the bus.
