Health Science 541 is one of the very first semester classes I have taken in the master's program for public health in Applied Epidemiology at California. It is a required core class that needs to be filled for students to review their diploma. It covers the topics:,. What I learned was the importance of that when you get into the workforce whether it is in a clinic, nonprofit or in a hospital setting, you bring more than just one experience, and you do not just do one job. For me something was learned in each chapter that will be tangible for students to take to utilize in the professional workplace. By the means of that we will possibly work closely with the accounting department to possible fund our programs or research. Understanding our budget and budget options will be helpful when trying to receive grants to do different types of research. Additionally, the class also touched on the human resources department, which gave me a better understanding of the hiring process and how to conduct an interview. As well as, the function of roles the department has. In class we discussed quality deficiencies recognizing the under, over and misuse of services. This tool can be utilized to help improve services or improve the financial departments of the facility. Culture Competent Health Services was the last topic discussed in class. By far this is the most important lecture and probably should be talked more about and formed into class. Especially with the issues, the world is facing today. We need to someone how to solve health disparities and resources and how we help and treat people. We live in constant change and are surrounded by multiple cultures constantly. These issues can be resolved is by starting with understanding one another and realize that what may work for one person may not work for
