The Importance of Human Resource Management Studies show that Human Resource Management (HRM) is an important factor in business. Human Resource Management has been around for years; however, some people think it is a newer idea. To be able to correctly understand why Human Resource Management is important, one must first see how HRM came about and the purpose for which it serves. The history of HRM can be shown in past cultures. As far as the purpose of HMR it can be determined by looking at their own job description. Human Resource Management is a key factor in a business and also in management in general. In 2015, Global Journal of Human Resource Management stated that HRM came about in 2000BC – 1000BC. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to working. HRM has the goal to figure out these strengths and weaknesses in employees and to help place employees in positions where their talents can shine. Say for example two employees have been hired by a printing company and one worker is better at stacking papers while the other is better at fixing the machines. This would be a situation where HRM could come into play by helping these employees find their strengthens and get the position that works best for them at the company. Human Resource Management is not a computer system; HRM is made up of real people working to help find jobs for other human beings. There is a huge list of job positions offered by a career in HRM. A job list was created by The Balance and a few positions they list include: Administrative Manager, Benefits Coordinator, Chief Happiness Officer, Director of Talent, E-Learning Analyst, Functional Leader, HRIS Manager, and Job Posting Specialist. These are only a few of the hundred plus job options in Human Resource Management. HRM not only helps place employees in a situations where they are comfortable and able to work efficiently, but also employees thousands of Americans in the Human Resource Management department.
