The first think I need to evaluate is the terms of the contract between my team and the management. Based on the nature of this contract, it may be the case that negotiating with the management and persuading my team are not mutually exclusive options. The background knowledge I need will aid me to understand the risks of challenging a decision made by the higher-ups. There are companies that have made the news for shaming and naming the staff who take a normal or longer than a usual lunch break, let alone disagreeing with the management, and other companies that have guaranteed paid vacation and paid maternity leave which they proudly mention in their recruitment plans. Thus, these huge differences must be understood and strategically handled. Furthermore, I will also use two of the five Scale factors used in the exponent computation, namely, Team Cohesion and Precedentedness. …show more content…
Interestingly enough, at least three of the factors that according to Sommerville (2010) affect Software pricing, in my opinion, are also among deciding factors in this case. Although it should not be taken for granted that the chemistry among team members and effective leadership require much more than a background in economy, the aforementioned relation between Software pricing and our deadline testifies to the reach and the power of economic health of a company.
Since time is money, Market Opportunity is about accepting the lower offer, but also the shorter deadlines. Take a shorter deadline today, deliver a good product tomorrow, and prove that in hard times, your team is capable of adapting to sudden changes in the business climate and the industry. Make a habit out of it and you brand your team as cheap, compliant, ready to oblige, and easily preyed
