Allyson works at Pizza Hut, and has for about five years now. She enjoys being in charge of fellow employees, but says sometimes the stress of the job is overwhelming. By overwhelming, she means fellow employees constant need for guidance, and the required number of hours to continue being a manager. Included in being a manager, is being trained in all aspects of the restaurant. She can be a cook, a delivery driver, or a waitress – sometimes all at the same time. The stress of being in charge is sometimes over bearing, as many employees need her attention at one time. She enjoys the responsibility of being a multi-trained employee, and likes that she can answer most questions without hesitation. The workload of this job sometimes causes her extreme stress. She is required to work at least twenty-five hours a week, and also goes to school three days a week. School and work leave her little free time to spend at home and with close friends. Within her job, she doesn’t like other employee’s work ethic. Meaning certain employee’s call in sick at least twice a week. These shifts are required to be covered, as she is usually willing to cover these shifts, as it is helpful to those employees that actually show up to work when scheduled. She enjoys interacting with customers and the commonality between her and the customers. She likes to get to know her customers, as they are likely to return if she gets acquainted with them. She has had many good surveys about her, and that makes her have pride in her job. She says that you can tell which waitresses/waiters are liked by the customers, based on the customers reactiveness to their survey She sometimes stops by other people’s tables, as she is familiar with the frequently returning customers.
