NCSA Meeting For this assignment I choose to go to an NCSA meeting, NCSA means Northland college student association. This association helps voice student concerns to faculty and to help come up with solutions. They sponsor student clubs and events for the students and community. Each group that represents the different parts of campus shares with the group the concerns that have been presented to them during that particular week. They discuss in small groups that are assigned to them how to get the word out about NSCA meeting. Regrouping afterwards to talk about the ideas they came up with, try out the different ideas for a week then discuss the results during the following meeting. In this particular meeting two clubs asked to be NSCA recognized. To be considered they had to club for a year without NSCA help to show they were stable. Getting recognized by NCSA meant that these two clubs could get funding from them. The clubs took turns stating what they had accomplished on their own. After that, the group decided to vote on whether or not they should be recognized. Both of the …show more content…
Each representative is supposed to share the views or concerns about the group they represent. They get to determine whether or not their group’s concerns get shared. Then as a whole group all the representatives discuss what should done, if anything. They have power in the sense that they determine if a group gets recognized and gets funding. The groups also helps with communication between the facility and staff. All the issues discussed at every meeting affect the student body since they mostly relate to them. One of the observation I noticed about the NCSA is that at first all the representatives grouped together based on friendship. So even not knowing them, I could tell certain things about based on who they were friends
