People walk past stepping in puddles left over from the slight drizzle of rain that had fallen about a hour ago. The clouds were covering the sky like a dark grey veil, almost black. When i was younger i used to live at Christopher Lake I spent a lot of my childhood there. There's not much i remember from when i was young, But i remember meeting a guy named Drewe when i was 10 or 11, He was tall for his age with short brown hair and Hazel eyes. He sat next to me and he was pretty funny so we quickly became friends, as we got to know each other better we realized we liked pretty much the exact same things and got along very well. We lived fairly close to each other so we spent a lot of time back and forth between houses. He lived close to a lake and i was morso in the forest so we would switch houses every weekend and explore the area around our houses and hunt for rabbits until we had to go home.…

It was a typical Friday night, in the spring of 2003, my mom had just dropped me off at the gas station so I could go over to my dads. After I got in my dads truck we drove over to his friends house where we would stay till late hours into the night. I tried to stay up as late as I could so my dad would not leave me at this stranger’s house, but inevitably as the second grader that I was I couldn’t compete with the older men when it came to who could stay up the latest. Needless to say I woke up on a couch, in a house I’d never been to. I started crying and frantically looked for a phone, so that I could call my dad.…

I’ve been listening to a lot of Jon & Deek in the morning, and in the mid-afternoon, and early evening. Those two (or one?) have me flipping through channels, seeing if I can remember what station NPR or The Keg is on. All I could remember about a station was “the Eagle is classic rock,” and I spent many minutes at red lights flipping through the country music stations trying to be reunited with my old customary station, only to find myself listening to Will Ferrell screech “SAANNTTAA!” on 94.9’s Christmas ad. Nothing was more brutal, and yet familiar than this. There’s no aux cord in my 2002 Honda, and it spits out cd’s when I put them in, and I can’t make myself realize that I’m not motivated enough to actually listen to NPR on a morning drive, so I resist looking up the tune-in number.…
