Martin Scorsese directed this fascinating three hour long Hollywood biopic following the life of one of the wealthiest man in the world of the 20th century, Howard Hughes. The Aviator focuses on the mid-1920 through the 1940’s in the life of Hughes (played by Leonardo DiCaprio). The time of his interest in producing and directing movies, passion for airplanes, heated love affairs and scrappy corporate battles. The filmmakers made it look like Howard had once lived a life without money who worked extremely hard to receive his wealth. In fact, Howard grew up in extravagance, it was his father’s money Hughes, Sr, creator of a popular drilling bit and the Hughes Tool Company that Howard Jr inherited. He received all the company’s assets at the age of 18, he became a millionaire, after his dad died from a fatal heart attack. So much more of a wealthier man then Kate’s father, a urologist.

He then instructed the production to be delayed for months for clouds to appear against which to shoot. The Aviator shows a courage’s risky Hughes who shot movies in a plane while filming life threating aircraft stunts. The movie does not dramatize the death of 3 men during the Hell’s Angels filming. Two stunt pilots and a mechanic were killed. Hughes was all sure willing to take risks even if it were at the expense of
